But is it right for you? Find out some of the major things that make these boats different from traditional gas-powered combustion boats.

While making an environmental statement, you are also saving hundreds of dollars every week on gas. Gas-powered traditional combustion party boats only get about 6 miles to the gallon, and even less on short trips. So if you often make many short trips during the day or at night on an electric party boat, you are throwing money out the window! Electric party boats can run for up to 7 1/2 hours at cruising speed (or 3 1/2 hours at full speed), so you can host the longest parties without worrying about running empty.

Electric party boats are obviously high-tech, and also increasingly stylish. Electric boat manufacturers now offer long lists of options for you, including built-in satellite radios, iPod docks, and solid wood countertops.

If you want to get the edge over your competition in throwing the hottest parties on the water, and also save a bundle, electric party boats are exactly what you’re looking for.

Electric party boats are by no means new to the world, but by the same token they are no means particularly widespread either. You will have to look long and hard in order to come across a party boat that is operated electrically and still worth purchasing. You will have to look longer and harder still to come up with one that you would want to purchase at the prices that they currently sell for.

When it comes to purchasing electric party boats, the best ones are available from companies that are relatively middle-aged boating companies that have decided to take a bit of a gander into the electric industry to see what things are all about.

A good example of such a company would be the Duffy Electric Boat Company. These guys have been around for about thirty years and throughout that time have been known for making relatively decent electric boats. They do have some party boat designs available, but you will find them to be sorely lacking when compared with combustion boats that operate with the same general specifications.

This is because of the lack of cheaply available electric boating technology and mostly results in performance issues more than anything else. If you don’t mind the boat going a bit slower, you can still definitely enjoy any party that you have in an electric party boat built by the Duffy Electric Boat Company. Just be prepared to pay a bit extra in order to get that boat under your ownership.

Of all of the different items to have gained some purchase in the electric industry, party boats would not be one of them. There have been efforts into getting the party boat electrified, but most of those efforts have fallen flat on their face. They started in the 1970s as a result of the oil shocks and have continued through to the present day in one form or another, but most of the people that purchase party boats are still people that are interested in getting some of the conventional combustion models available in today’s market.

In fact, it is perhaps not that surprising that electric party boats have not caught on. If you take a look at the areas in which electric vehicles have really caught steam, the areas are ones in which you would use the vehicle on a regular and frequent basis. This is why electric cars are leading the way and are followed by electric trucks, vans and 2-3 wheeled vehicles.

In many ways, the electric party boat is not really built for early electrification in mind. Since most people that own them do not use them that frequently, the hurt of the higher gas cost is not one that would be on a person’s mind most of the time. That essentially means that electric party boats will be one of the last electric transportation items to actually dominate their part of the industry. Until that day comes, combustion vehicles are going to be far better in just about every respect.
